No resistance?

1. No resistance: First, check that you hear the motor (located inside the housing) turning. You will hear the motor turn very briefly when you increase or decrease the resistance. If you hear the motor turning, then all the electronics are fine but the V-belt (the same as a bicycle chain) has come loose. You can open the housing and put the V-belt back on. Do you not hear the motor turning? If so, the motor or display may be faulty. First check that the cable running in the tube is properly connected to the display and that the aluminum legs are not bent. If the cables are still tight, the display should be replaced. If that does not solve the problem, replace the motor.
